Ottawa, Ontario has a lot to offer people who make their way towards the city. Whether you're in town just for the weekend to take part in a company retreat or you've decided to move here in the hopes of finding a new job. There are plenty of things to see and do around the city that will be a lot of fun for you and your family.

If you're cooped up looking at cottages home plans or the classified ads all weekend, why not take a break and explore what Ottawa has to offer? You will surely find something you enjoy in the capital of Canada. For any history buffs or political scholars, the capital city of Canada is a historian's delight. From Parliament Hill that houses the Senate and the House of Commons, to the Supreme Court of Canada, to 24 Sussex Drive, the home of the Canadian Prime Minister, you will find plenty of buildings with political significance. Not only will you get to learn about the history of Canada but you will also get to see some pretty cool looking buildings.

Canada is a prideful nation when it comes to the local arts scene. If you're someone who enjoys art of any kind, you'll be glad to be in Ottawa as there are quite a few museums and galleries here. There's the Canadian Museum of Civilization, the National Gallery of Canada, the Canadian Museum of Nature and the Canadian War Museum, just to name a few. You'll probably lose track of the time for travel as you walk from one full hallway of paintings and sculptures to the next.

Ottawa hosts plenty of events throughout the year that attracts many visitors to the city. Hopefully you find yourself in Ottawa during one of those events. In July there's the Ottawa Bluesfest which brings many popular and mainstream musical acts such as Ben Harper to Ottawa. Each year during the winter, Ottawa puts on Winterlude. Canada's National Capital Commission runs the yearly event that features activities such as public skating, ice sculpture competitions, underground music and musical concerts and skating displays that take place in the Rideau Canal.

So, it doesn't matter if you left your job and moved to Ottawa to find new employment or you're just here visiting friends, Ottawa has no shortage of fun activities you can participate in.
