PRESS
RELEASE:

Walter Robinson to be guest speaker at public meeting of the
Rural Council, November 8th
| The
Rural Council is pleased to announce that Walter Robinson,
columnist with the Ottawa Sun, former Director of the Canadian
Taxpayers Federation and Conservative Party of Canada candidate
in Ottawa-Orleans in the 2004 general election, will be Guest
Speaker at a public meeting to be held in the Kinburn Community
Centre, on November 8th.
Mr. Robinson, who has titled his address, "Election 2K6 -- A
city boy's take on the emerging rural |

|
agenda", will be able to
draw on his wealth of experience as former Director of the
Canadian Taxpayers Federation, to show how current city
mismanagement of taxpayers' resources have negatively impacted
all residents, but especially those in the rural areas. |
He will describe how the rural-resident
component of the "new city" is leading the fight to
restore democracy and sound fiscal management to our municipal
government and why the suburban areas of the city are also keen to
join in the battle.
Other Rural Council business:
The evening promises to be both
entertaining and informative, covering updates on a wide range of
Rural Council activities, discussion of timely budget issues /
taxation concerns and exploring solutions to the, city-created, democratic deficit crisis
affecting us all.
Rural councillors Eli El-Chantiri,
Glenn Brooks, Doug Thompson and Rob Jellett have been invited to the
meeting.

calendar, to attend!
