Environmental Lawyer to Address Richmond Villages
Position on Munster/Richmond Force Main

Ottawa, Ontario

The Richmond Village Assn. will be holding an important town hall meeting December 7, starting at 7:00 PM.

Main topic of discussion is the water source protection of Richmond and area private wells.

Guest Speaker is Mr. Rod Northey, noted Specialist in Environmental Law, and our lobbyist before the Provincial Ministry of the Environment. He will be speaking to any city of Ottawa councilors who wish to attend, Glenn Brooks has indicated he will attend as will Doug Thompson. Special invitations are out to Jan Harder, Eli El Chantiry and Janet Stavinga.

MP Gord O'Connor will be in the audience and MPP John Baird is sending a representative.

Mr. Northey will be discussing our legal strategy and present position, in relation to the Munster/Richmond sewage force main, a position that he sees as very encouraging. He will be detailing the numerous omissions and misrepresentations in the city's application of the Environmental Assessment, which lead to the faulty, (and health-threatening) ministry approval ---which must be reversed.

Questions will be answered following the presentation.
